Biography
Pabanor (Pablo Pabanor Ortiz) is a DJ Remixer, Record Producer, and Event Producer. Pabanor has delighted us with several charted productions that have made us dance since the beginning of his career spanning from Urban/Pop to EDM Latino popularly known as Latin House. as One of the Pioneers of that Sound. His work has received widespread acclaim, and many of the artists who have collaborated with him refer to his work as “The Pabanor Sound.”
Pabanor’s career is littered with notable accomplishments, from his numerous productions to being a well-known DJ in his field. Pabanor, who has worked with everyone from El General to David Hasselhoff on remixes and productions, stays humble about his accomplishments and plainly prefers performing and producing music to the attention it brings. Pabanor, who was born in Cuba and reared in New Jersey, began his career as a DJ at Emerson High School, where he began spinning at the age of 13 and was noticed by a club owner. He was also featured under the DJ name “LazerMan” in the following Clubs where his career as a DJ/Producer took off: “Next to The Park Café”, “Stardust”, “After Darks”, “Garage”, “Passion Night Club”, and “High Voltage Nightclub”, “Club Casino,” “Seconds,” “Thrills Night Club” in Tampa Bay, “Club 21,” “Foxes Night Club,” “The Palace,” “The Supper Club,” in New Jersey., “The Beat Club” ,”Visions”, “Nocturnal” in Miami, and “Club Banana’s” in Italy.
Pabanor founded PAOWAO Studios. in 1991, which eventually became known as Pabanor Productions. A Production label developed to such dimensions that he decided to release his own Compilation tittle “Recollection” , which featured some of label’s artists. Pabanor’s style is now a mix of everything: Electro House, Progressive, Tech House , Latin House -Guaracha and a bit of Urban – it’s the best of everything the dance world has to offer. His productions, sets, and releases range from peak-time club heaven to the kind of perfect House, Disco House, Latin House and Electro session, and have lent as much influence to high energy music as something to look forward to hearing in his extended D.J. sets. Pabanor is now experimenting with new sounds in the studio and creating additional vocals himself, as he continues to explore new pathways.
Pabanor’s future looks bright, both as a solo D.J artist and as the Producer we’ve known him to be since his early days. “It’s difficult to look too far into the future,” Pabanor would say. Every couple of months, something new, unexpected, and exciting appears!” ………Pabanor’s extensive experience in musical, production, and direction has led to him serving as a mentor to many artists, including the famous Rap Artist “EL GENERAL,” “VIC THE KID OF LOS SUCIOS,” “UP 4 JOY,” “2 OF A KIND,” “MANNY PACHECO,” and “GRUPO SALSABOR.” “ALQUIMIA,” “MARCELO MOLINA,” “FRAGANCIA” (from DLG), and “HEART & SOUL.”
His work has appeared in numerous remixes and jingles, including the MALTA INDIA commercial, which received extensive promotion in Puerto Rico and New York. Conducted sound operations and music direction for L.T.V. Networks,/ Coca Cola Stage for ten years on Calle 8 Carnaval Miami managing the Coca Cola Stage, Tour of “Noches Cubanas” in European Countries, Carnaval en Mendoza (Argentina), and Telethon de Costa Rica in the United States. In addition, he collaborated with one of the legendary producers in the Latin market as well as Anglo, Jose Silva, (responsible for many productions such as ABBA, Pointer Sisters, Lionel Ritchie, Chichi Peralta, and many well-known artists), and they were the first to start the rise and promotion of The rhythm “Champeta” or Chalusonga was a combination of Colombian chalupa and Afro-Cuban percussive music, and was developed in Cartegena , Colombia. “Champeta” was introduced in the United States as a new latin music genre, which was later used in a fusion with “Reggaeton” to push it to an international level.
He has also worked on projects for internationally renowned artists such as: Clarence Clemons and the “TEMPLE OF SOUL” (Clarence Clemons, Narada Michael Walden, TM Stevens, Vernon “Ice” Black), Marc Anthony, Ray Martinez, Lucia Mendez, Juan Carlos Coronel, “Fulanito” Dose, & Jose El Enano aka El Chico Bom Bon . His educational background and artistic experience extends through the phonographic industry, where he has worked in various positions ranging from promoter to executive producer, and he has also played an active role in the realization of several shows, concerts, and international events.
